Sometimes in life we all just need to escape the stress of everyday goings on. My recent holiday to Mallorca gave me this opportunity and I have to say, it really did feel good to get away.

Whilst on holiday, I experienced many new things and saw some beautiful places.
The sunshine, for example, was just one simple thing that I'm not used to enjoying. Usually as the sun comes out, I hide away, since I am so prone to sun burn. But on this holiday, waking up to a lovely sunny day really brightened my mood and made each day feel pretty positive. I didn't get sunburnt and for the first time ever, I enjoyed sun bathing in the glorious sun.
Another thing was getting out the house, going for walks and seeing all the different things that there were. Doing this made me feel a huge appreciation for nature and how beautiful it is; I couldn't stop taking photos of everything for the whole week. Getting up and out sometimes can help to clear your head and make you think about different things than the usual.
One day, we went out on a boat trip to see lots of beautiful coves and sandy beaches; it was wonderful. It was super refreshing to see such a relaxed environment compared to busy roads and rushing people. The boat even stopped so that people could get into the water and have a swim. The water was crystal clear and it was just such a nice thing to say I had experienced.
The last thing was just getting to RELAX, something which I never really get to do. It was nice to just stop and take in everything around you rather than having to stress or rush round. Everyone needs to get away sometimes and it really can help you feel a lot better within yourself.

A Get Away...

On the first night in Mallorca, I decided to sport some classic stripes.

I wore this lovely black and white dress from Zara, along with my Topshop Birkenstock (which you can read more about here). During the entire holiday, I simply used a plain white cotton bag to carry my belongings as it was so extremely easy to carry around. I tied my hair up in a tight bun and wanted my make up to do the talking. I decided to wear a bright lip and MAC Lady Danger was my choice. I thought the red lip contrasted nicely with the monochrome outfit. I wore my Dogeared Karma necklace, with my Pandora ring and a bracelet that my brother bought me as a gift from Italy. We spent the evening at the marina where millions of pounds worth of yachts sat in view of every restaurant. It was lovely!

On the second night of my holiday, I decided to throw on a super comfy outfit. I wore a baby blue vest top from Topshop Boutique, with a black and white floral skirt from New Look. I slipped on some comfy white Primark flats and carried my white cotton bag. I also wore my Dogeared Karma necklace and Pandora ring.

On my third night in Mallorca, we once again went to eat at the Marina and so I was feeling a nautical outfit. I have fallen in love with the colour baby blue recently and so I really liked this outfit. I paired a baby blue button down Topshop cami with my high waisted Missguided shorts and my white Primark dolly shoes. I carried with me my white cotton bag and wore my Dogeared Karma necklace and Pandora ring.

I tied my hair back in a tight bun and created a bronzed make up look. I used Benefit Oxygen Wow as my base and powdered my Chanel Les Beiges. I contoured my cheeks with Nars Laguna Bronzer and wore MAC Vegas Volt Lipstick.

On my fourth night on holiday, I decided to pull out some cute and simple polka dots. I wore a Topshop Boutique tee with a lovely Forever 21 dress over the top. I think this created quite a 50/60s style, so I tied my hair back tight to try to recreate Twiggy's iconic look. I also wore my white Primark flats once again.

I added my same old Dogeared Karma necklace and Pandora ring to complete the outfit.
This was an unusual hairstyle for me, but its always good to give something new a try!

On my fifth night in Mallorca I decided to whip out a new purchase of mine...the kimono.
I styled this gorgeous black lace kimono from Missguided with a simple white tunic sundress from Topshop. I added my white Primark dolly shoes and my standard jewelry to complete the look.
I once again went for Benefit's Oxygen Wow foundation and my Chanel Les Beiges powder. I contoured with my Nars Laguna Bronzer and wore MAC's Kinda Sexy on my lips.
I decided to created a messy hairstyle by curling and back combing my hair.
I loved wearing this outfit and it was one of my favorite things I wore!

On my sixth night in Mallorca I decided to tackle my crop top fear (read more here) by wearing something a bit more daring for me. I styled my black and white gingham bra-let from Topshop with my white high waisted Missguided shorts. Since the neckline of the top was a bit too low cut for me, I wore a white bandeau underneath to prevent anything unpleasant from happening hahaha. I wore my white Primark flats to add the final touch of white to the outfit and my usual jewelry. I curled my hair once again since I really liked the way it had turned out the night before and went for the same make up look. I'm really glad that I felt brave enough to pluck up the courage to wear this outfit as I really enjoyed wearing it!

On my seventh and final night in Mallorca i decided to embrace the glorious weather and go for a crisp white outfit.

I once again wore this tunic dress from Topshop however, this time without the kimono and slipped on my Primark flats. I went for my simple jewelry from Pandora and Dogeared and carried my trusty white cotton bag. I decided to straighten my hair and go for a natural make up look to keep things nice and simple. I wore MAC's Kinda Sexy on my lips and used Benefit They're Real Mascara. I loved how the all-white outfit embraced my holiday tan (YEAH RIGHT, more like holiday freckles hahaha) and reflected the bright and beautiful weather.

We spent the evening at a wonderful restaurant on the Marina and watched as people sailed in on their yachts. A lovely way to end the holiday!

Thursday 26th June 2014, I attended my Year 11 prom and can honestly say it was amazing. We began with a delicious meal and continued our night with fun games and A LOT of dancing. Me and my friends danced constantly and belted out Mr Bright-side SO loud that i have woken up with no voice this morning aha. Anyway, i thought it would be interesting to write a post on the look i went for at my Prom and how i went about putting my outfit together. I hope you like it!

With my prom dress and outfit, I wanted to send out strong Marilyn Monroe vibes. That's right... If you can't already tell, I love 50's style and i'm all about red lipstick and classic clothes. I decided to wear a long, black chiffon dress with a wrap over front as I thought that the contrast between my pale skin and the deep, dark black could really capture people's attention. I wanted to create a classic and elegant look; feeling as if I had just arrived on a red carpet in Hollywood.

For my make up I went for a classic red lip using MAC Lady Danger and I created a neutral smokey eye with the use of MAC Cork Eye Shadow along with some gorgeous glitter. I love very simple make up, as many did during the 50's, but I did try to add a bit of glamour to this look. I used NARS Laguna Bronzer to contour my face and create those defined cheek bones and painted my nails with American Apparel's Downtown LA Nail Varnish. The red lip and red nails tied the look together and also contrasted with both the black of my dress and my pale complexion. Red was most definitely THE colour of the era, red lips and nails everywhere, inspired by Miss Monroe.

My dazzling rhinestone necklace was purchased from Zara and I wore my ring from Pandora, gifted to me by my friends earlier this week on my birthday. I also decide to wear some crystal clip-on earrings, shaped like pretty flowers, which were actually originally my Great Nanna's. I never had the great opportunity of meeting her however, a lot of her jewelry was handed down to me and I always find myself  looking for bits of old jewelry i can style up; like the earrings in this look. I love the chic feel that these earrings created and I think they helped to draw in attention. I wore black court heels from Topshop to match the colour of my dress but unfortunately during the evening one of these shoes broke, so I would not recommend them! I used a lovely gem stone clutch bag from New Look (which was a complete bargain at £12) helping to reflect the style of Hollywood Glamour.

I had my hair styled in a classic vintage wave and I adored it. It definitely sent out strong Marilyn vibes and finished my look off.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my Prom inspiration and let me know what you think!

Okay, so here we go...
I have wanted to start up a blog for quite a long time now, but i never seemed to pluck up the guts to do so, (although i have made several goes in the past but chickened out hahaha).

I'm Holly, a complete and utter fashion, beauty and style enthusiast. Yes that's right, i'm the girl that adores taking pretty photographs of the simplest things, buys too many clothes and falls in love with 17 different red lipsticks. I love fashion and the way that different people can express themselves through what they wear and the same applies to make-up.

I have created my blog now as i feel like the time is right. I want to share my interests and also experience having something of my own; this blog will be my own space to write about whatever i want  (i love that).

I hope you enjoy reading my blog, let's see how this goes..
