Yesterday I finally turned 17, after, what felt like, forever! I spent the day out at the cinema seeing Jurassic World (highly recommend) and having a bit of a shop afterwards. I just wanted an easy day, so opted for a comfy outfit - a white tee, a black midi skirt, a black bomber and boots!

In the evening I got to see my friends, which was lovely and I received some really nice cards and a fabulous present from them... Thanks guys♥

Now I'm in my eighteenth year and I am ambitious to see what the future holds...bring it on!

Today, I have been blogging for 1 whole year! *dancing lady emoji*

Holly Loves The Simple Things started on June 16th 2014 but I feel like my blogging journey began way way before that. I began wanting to make a blog in around 2011 when I had been watching YouTube and reading blogs for almost 2 years already. I just loved it all. The fact that there is this world on the internet where people can express themselves and share what they love, is amazing. I just wanted to be a part of it. During that time however, I was still at high school and way too easily embarrassed to just go for it.

Something just came over me last year. Everything in my world seemed to be going wrong and I wanted to keep hold of something I knew helped me feel safe. Blogging became my release. I could talk about the things that made me happy, take photos and interact with people who had no pre-judgements about me.

For a month or two last year, I had to take a break from blogging, but since getting back into the swing of things in January, I have well and truly found my happy place. Holly Loves The Simple Things is my little dream and I love it.

Within a year I have hit 600 Bloglovin' followers and my Instagram account is filled with your guys' love!

I really hope you enjoy what I bring to my blog and that it keeps you in high spirits. I know what it's like to want to escape- blogs and YouTube are such a great way to do so nowadays. Please keep reading and commenting- it makes me so so happy! Thank you to you all!

My first impression of this mascara was 'ooo this packaging is soo pretty!' and then I thought maybe i'll give this a go...

The formula of the mascara is moist and isn't too heavy on the lashes. It's easy to apply and the brush is really good. It definitely adds volume to the lashes but isn't necessarily that lengthening. It's certainly a good mascara but I would say that it's not that different to any mascara you can find in the drug-stores. Some may find the brush to be too big and at times there can be too much product on the brush too.

If you're into big brushes and volume definitely give this a go, but I wouldn't go rushing to the a counter to buy one too soon.

One place that I completely forgot to mention during my Brighton posts was Snoopers Paradise.

Snoopers Paradise is a vintage store full to the brim with hidden gems - it's a haven! You definitely must be a 'snooper' to go here; it's a maze of everything you could ever imagine, from old photographs and cameras to furniture and clothing, it truly is amazing!

When you enter, it is like your transported back in time. You'll be greeted by wracks of vintage clothing and an overflowing, bizarre space that has something for everyone.

My favourite thing about my visit was going in the photobooth! They have an old fashioned photobooth hidden in the centre of the store that captures some lovely black and white photos for you to treasure.

Snoopers Paradise is definitely a must visit! You can find them at:
