The Powders

Whilst in Brighton I couldn't help but take a trip down to The Flour Pot Bakery after hearing Alfie Deyes rave about it on his vlog channel! So on our second day we headed down there for some lunch!

The interior was absoloutley gorgeous and right up my street - lots of copper and white walls! The food was all fresh and presented beautifully on the counter. It all looked super tasty!

I opted for a cheese and ham toastie and a lovely green tea. The tea cups were soooo cute with 'The Flour Pot Bakery' logo printed on the inside and my tea came in a pretty little tea pot. My Dad ordered a coffee which looked delicious too! I really enjoyed my food there!

The seating area was so quirky, with little tables and benches to sit on! The vibe was so relaxed and i just absoloutley adored the place.

The Flour Pot

The Maybelline pencils are a little smaller and shorter in shape and size compared to the Nars ones, and are also made from wood whereas the Nars packaging is a plastic-like material.

Maybelline's pencil's come in at £4.99 each, which is a pretty good bargain. They have good colour pay off and can be used both as a lip stick or simply to line your lips. However, compared to the Nars pencils, they are a lot drier in texture and tend to drag. I find that this really dehydrates my lips leaving them flaky. Applying lip balm will most likely help with this problem.

The Nars pencils are much creamier, although this does mean that they don't last quite as long as the Maybelline ones. These also have great pigmentation and come in a variety of colours. The price tag for these is £19.00, £14.00 more than the Maybelline colour drama lip pencils.

Despite the slight difference in texture, the Maybelline pencils could certainly be seen as a dupe for Nars. However, if you do have the money then I would opt for the Nars pencils just due to the nicer quality of the product.

Nars Satin Lip Pencil VS Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Pencil

After hearing about them from Alfie Deyes/Zoe Sugg and Rhiannon from Fashion Rocks My Socks, I knew that I had to head to Blue Bird Tea Company whilst I was in Brighton.

They are tea 'mixologists' specialising in blending your perfect cup of loose leaf tea. They offer a wide variety of teas and flavours, including Strawberry Lemonade and Candy Floss and also sell a bunch of accessories to go along with it.

I tried the Super Tea which was unusual but really yummy. The staff were super lovely and the shop itself was so nice, it even had a seating area for you to wait for your drink to be made. There were tins clearly labelled with different flavours so it was easy to see what was on offer, plus they made the place look really cool and quirky. I highly recommend you check them out if you're ever in their area!

Blue Bird Tea Company

My last day in Brighton was super sunny and that could only mean it was time to whip out my culottes and go for a stroll...

My baby blue cami is from Topshop last summer. It's a lovely flattering fit and the colour is perfect to style with both monochromatic and more colourful outfits.

My culottes were a bargain at £3, from Primark. They are the comfiest trousers I own and are great for the warmer months. My Coat is also from Primark and as are my sunglasses. The coat is a long white duster - only £19.99 and my sunglasses were £1!

My boots are the usual suspects from New Look, adding a classy feel to the look and my bag is from ASOS.

Strolling On The Streets of Brighton

Brighton is full up of vintage stores and quirky clothes shops however, I was especially really excited to pop into Wolf and Gypsy Vintage during my stay there.

Their stock is some of the coolest pieces of second hand clothing, as well as some lovely pieces of jewellery. When I first entered I immediately noticed stripes,denim and mustard yellow- three of my favourite things at the moment.They're pieces are hung nicely on clothing rails which are super easy to to have a mooch through and you can see that although these pieces are vintage they match the current trends of the moment. Most of the items seem to have a 60s/70s style, which I adore, and are in such brilliant condition. There was a mixture of both everyday clothing and some pieces that would be great for dressing up on a night out. The prices are super affordable too, everything falling between about £20-£50.

The interior was right up my street with potted plants, quirky lamp shades and a gorgeous stand alone mirror. The dim lighting created a really chilled mood and I loved the way that the stock was split into men's and women's so it was easy to see what was in store for both genders without having to route through racks and racks of clothes. There were some gorgeous boho style lace dresses hung up in the back which were just truly stunning too!

Wolf and Gypsy Vintage

You can't beat a pretty dress...or even a carousel, can you? So why not put the two together.

My dress is a gorgeous dress which i snapped up for just £10 on Boohoo.com. I styled it with my Topshop Mary Jane heels and red lips for a super classic look.

The carousel, as well as Brighton's many other attractions, really brings the place to life and i just think it makes the sea front look very beautiful.

Round And Round On The Carousel

You know how much I love red lipstick right? My collection just keeps growing and growing! But, I often struggle with having to re-apply and re-apply and re-apply. It gets tiring.

So, when me and my friend Annabel took ourselves off shopping, lip stains were truly on the agenda.

Ever since buying this, i honestly can't stop wearing it. I think it is brilliant! IT DOES NOT BUDGE. First, you apply the red lip gloss and let it dry ( i usually apply two coats), then you apply the clear glossy balm on the other side of the product. Voilà! You've got yourself some long lasting lip colour.

There's a wide range of shades in this collection, from pinks, to more nude tones, but you know i love myself some red. I've eaten and drank, been out all day and this has barely moved an inch! I admit, sometimes i have to touch it up just a little but compared to the amount of times i'd have to re-apply a red lippy, this is no fuss!

Highly recommend!

Maybelline 24 Hour Stay

My first day in Brighton consisted of the long 6 hour car journey and a meal out at Zizzi's in the evening, along with a stroll round a few of the lanes. When we arrived, i fell in love. I really want to live there! I decided that I just had to wear something comfy and simple considering I was going to be stuck in a car for good length of time. So dungarees were a must...

My dungarees are from Matalan and are one of the comfiest pieces in the wardrobe...ever! I styled it up with a basic white shirt from Forever 21 and black pumps from New Look to keep the look minimal.

I really love this outfit and it was perfect for staying comfortable but also for feeling as stylish as possible whilst travelling.

Topshop Cream Blusher in Flush - Cream blushers are perfect for spring and summer. They're light on the skin and keep you looking lovely and rosy. This colour looks scary in the pan but on, it's a lovely pretty pink!

Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream Nail Polish - If spring isn't the time to be wearing pastels, then when is? This baby pink shade is great for adding a girly vibe to any look.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush - This brush is great for blending in foundation and creating that flawless look that we all want during the warmer weather.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara - For fluttery long lashes that are going to bag you a summer romance...hopefully, grab a hold of this mascara. This is good competition for my favourite Benefit They're Real (That's how much i like it!)

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - This foundation leaves your skin well covered but feeling like you're barely wearing a thing. It's the best budget foundation i've ever had. Highly Recommend!

Drugstore Make Up for Spring 2015

On the 25th of April I headed down to Brighton for a long weekend with my Mum and Dad. Brighton is somewhere I have wanted to visit for such a long time and I knew I had to go.

Whilst there we visited some lovely places and I want to share them with you in some upcoming posts.

When we arrived I immediately loved it. The people, the buildings, everything just seemed so perfect to me. We spent a lot of time in the Lanes looking through all the little shops and finding some hidden gems, whilst also sitting in restaurants and cafes watching the world of Brighton go by.

I definitely think I need to live there at some point in my life!
