Frankie Says... It's 2019, Relax

4.1.19

Ah, hello there 2019, how you doin'?

It's that 'new year, new start' time again and, I don't know about you but, I'm still in Christmas food coma mode.

I've absolutely loved having a bit of a break from things, and although I have missed getting creative and heading down to London for shoots, I'm a little nervous to throw myself back into it all.

You see, I've still got that little bit of doubt left over from 2018 and just want to make 2019 SO MUCH BETTER than 2018 ever was.

But, for that to happen, I think I need to approach the new year with a clear mind and spend a little more time getting my anxious head ready to face what this year has to bring.

Sometimes we all need to chill out for one reason or another, right?

My reasons usually center around my mental health, and how easily overwhelmed I seem to be getting at the moment, but there are some other reasons we sometimes just really need a break too.

CLOSE DOWN YOUR EMAILS, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE BREAK, AND GET SOME SLEEP

That's right, I'm looking at you 'Little Miss/Mr Workaholic'. It can be so hard to switch off sometimes, especially when you love what you do, but it's good to take advantage of any free time you get just to simply rest, not move and let yourself relax.

Sure, I know what it's like... we all get super fidgety and want to find something to do, but grab a book, run a bath and then curl up in bed and do sweet fuck all.

BE ALONE

Sometimes we never just get a minute to ourselves and it's nice when the time finally comes, to just spend some time on our own.

I know I really appreciate the time I spend alone with myself - it's such good thinking time and when my head has been all over the place, some time by myself is exactly what I need to feel better.

EVERYTHING IS TOO MUCH, SO LET'S DO TOO LITTLE

As I said, I seem to get incredibly overwhelmed by little things lately and it's been hard to even fathom getting out of bed some days. So, why not just stay there? Why force myself, when my body is telling me it can't, to get out and do so much that I'm just going to end up stressed out of my head again?

I think it's so important to listen to what your head and your body are telling you... and mine is saying 'eat carbs and sleep all day', so I'm going to do just that.
