The Block Color Party Outfit
21.6.14
Last night (20/06/14), I went to a party with my friends and I wanted to wear something summery and exciting. I had recently been fan-girling over an outfit Alexa Chung (my absolute icon) wore to the MyTheresa.com and Anya Hindmarch dinner in London. She was wearing a tailored Saint Laurent red velvet suit paired with a co-ordinating mini pencil skirt. She looked so striking, I fell in love with the bright eye catching red and wanted to incorporate that into this outfit.
I decided I would pair a red Delicate Topshop top with my white high-waisted Missguided shorts. The contrast between the clean white and the fiery red really excited me and worked in the exact way i wanted it to (to stand out!). I loved how easy this outfit was to put together and I am definitely one for simplicity. So, I wore this simple - yet very exciting - combination with my white high heels from Red Herring. I feel like the white shoes tied the whole thing together and exaggerated the blocks of colour. I also later added a silver Topshop necklace and Primark rings to complete the look.
For my make-up i went for a simple look, similar to Alexa and let my red lipstick (MAC Red Lipstick) do all the talking. I painted my nails using OPI's Nail Lacquer in Live.Love.Carnival and wore Miss Dior Cherie for fragrance.
Overall, i was really happy with my chic, summery party outfit and i'm so happy i could add some of Alexa's style into the mix!
