Okay, music is not something I usually chat about here on the ol' blog.

I'm usually one to write much more about fashion, my life, or mental health, and I don't really dip my toe into talking about music in anyway shape or form. However, since I am a human being, a young funky women to be in fact, I do indeed listen to music, pretty much on an everyday basis.

And, sure, my taste might be 'basic' or 'commercial' (as my boyfriend described me as when he first met me) compared to what you might like, but for all you other 'basic', 'commercial' guys out there, this one is for you.

Here is the music I've been listening to lately!

Now, you may be thinking that this is some sort of Joe Jonas crush resurfacing from when I was 11, however, that is not the case. I really do love DNCE's sound.
There's something about the mix between pop and funk that is just perfect for me to just dance around my room listening to. (Plus, Joe Jonas is still cute... kind of?...)

My favourite song by them at the moment is (ironically) 'DANCE' - I literally love walking round London or Manchester with that song blaring in my earphones.

Willow Smith

As I begin writing this paragraph, I am, indeed, whipping my hair back and forth (haha, get it?), because my lordy lord lord, Willow Smith's music is really fucking good.

I don't even know how I stumbled across her latest music - lord knows I wasn't searching for her old stuff - but regardless, I found it, and instantly became obsessed.

I love the way her songs talk about love, growth and different emotions throughout life - it's just really relatable, chilled music!

My favourites are 'Wait A Minute!', 'IDK' and 'dRuGz'.

Okay, I have always been a Rihanna fan, there's no doubt about that, but recently I've found myself instantly turning on her album straight away on a Friday night whilst I sit sipping my Disaronno and Coke.

I can't help but want to get up and dance to each one of her songs, old and new, they're all just total bops.

I love 'Desperado' and 'Consideration' at the moment - I can't stop playing them!

IAMDDB is an artist that my boyfriend actually introduced me to. Before listening to her, I'd never really delved into that side of music before, but I really really love it.

I'd always been one for 'commercial' pop, and don't get me wrong, I still am, but there's something about IAMDDB's sound that I just find incredible unique.

The urban jazz is something that really opened my mind up to hearing different music.

Some of my favourites are 'Shade', 'Ur Highness' and 'Leaned Out'.

Mae Muller

I have had Mae's song 'Jenny' on repeat for the past god-knows-how-long and I cannot stop!

Something about the song just really makes me feel happy - I don't know whether it's the humor in the song or beat in the music, but something about it has just got me completely hooked.

Go give it a listen, pleaseee!

Dua Lipa

I feel ridiculous even putting Dua Lipa in this list, because it's already obvious that every female is well and truly in love with her and her music.

You can't write the modern day equivalent of Marina and The Diamonds 'How To Be A Heartbreaker' and not expect to have millions of girls become completely obsessed.

So yeah, Dua, you get a shoutout, and not just purely for setting those god damn rules in stone (or music) for the entire female race.

And, there we have it, that's the kind of thing I've been listening to lately!

Let me know if you've been listening to anything similar or if you think that there's something I might like to listen to too ♥
