Frontrow PR contacted me a while back and said they'd love for me to try out some Su-Man skincare. They kindly sent me the Rehydrating Toning Essence and asked me to give it a go.. and so I did!

This product is described as the perfect bridge between cleansing and moisturising and I have to say, I am really enjoying using it. It's really hydrating on the skin and super refreshing, allowing you to feel instantly more awake. It leaves my skin feeling plump and clean and I find that this product is able to calm my skin down and to reduce angry blemishes very well.

The Rehydrating Toning Essence contains hyaluronic acid, rose petal and green tea extract and it comes in a 100ml bottle. The packaging is really lovely and simple and has sat nicely on my desk looking very pretty for these past couple of weeks. It comes in at £37 - which I know is kindaa expensive however, I do have to say, this stuff is definitely worth the price and I have loved using it!

So here's something a little different to what you would usually see here over on Simple Things. My fabulous friend Hannah recently popped round to mine for a bit of a natter, when she showed me something that blew my mind.. She had illustrated an image of Kendall Jenner and, let me tell you, it was soooooo freaking gooooooood. So, in usual Holly style, I got overly excited and said 'oh my god, put this on instagram, share it!'. To be honest, I still stand by that, it was way too good to not share with the world. Once I'd come down from my over-excited high, we decided that she would illustrate me. I got so excited and knew that I wanted to write a post dedicated just to her and her lovely work!

I am absoloutley in love with this and I can't believe I didn't realise my friend's talent! It's so detailed, precise and it's just soooooo freaking gooooood. Anyway, you should definitely go and check out her instagram (@hannahkirkland_) where she posted her Kendall Jenner illustration - give it some lovinnnn and tell her just how fab she is. She also has a Sellfy account here: https://t.co/Fvb8CYHfmE, where you can purchase an illustration of yourself, eeeek, how cool is that?! Follow her on twitter and give her a DM (@HansOffTheWall_) - I'm sure you'll be very happy with her work.

PS, if you want to see how she does her thaaang head on over to her new YouTube channel to watch her create wonderful designs!

Now, if you know me, then you know that I can't resist a good ol' red lipppy - especially if it's from MAC. Here i've got for you my three fav Mac red lipsticks and how I like to wear them...

MAC RED
This lipstick is a perfect 'classic' red and is great for a day time look. I've been using this for... oh god knows, probably like 3 years and I am obsessed with it. Since I have pale skin, I always gravitate towards bold colours and as soon as I tried this, it instantly became holy grail. It is a satin finish and feels super creamy on the lips, which I love. I like wearing this with a gold tone eye shadow on the lid and a pale complexion to really make my lips, as well as my eyes, stand out.

LADY DANGER
high waay to the dangerrr zoneeeeee *sunglasses emoji*
I remember ages and ages ago, I was watching one of Essie Button's vlogs when she was wearing a bright red top along with a stunning red lipstick and after rooting through her description box, I found out that it was Lady Danger! It looked sooooooo good on her that I just had to try it out. I've been wearing this loads recently and love it along with a peachy blush and quite bare eyes - I think it makes for a unique look.

RUSSIAN RED
Russian Red is gorgeous, dark and mysterious. It goes on the lips really easily and even manages to make your teeth look all nice and white. This is a shade that I love wearing during the colder months and it's definitely got that 'old Hollywood' style to it. I like wearing this with a shimmery eye colour and strong brows, to create a fierce look.

I'm going to put it out there.. I don't think i've had a hair cut for 5/6 months...ooops. Recently, I've just been feeling clueless about what to do with the mop on my head and since I ain't gonna be dying it no crazy colour any time soon (gotta preserve that gingerness) there isn't a lot I can think about doing. Usually I would just chop it all off, but I kind of miss being able to throw my hair into a messy bun and not have 70% of it fall back down. At the moment, I'm just letting it grow. I'm thinking that I'll just keep growing it until it gets to a length I like and then I think I'll just stick with that for a bit..who knows? What even is this blog post?... who knows? *hair ramblings of a crazy person*

I just thought i'd keep you posted on my hair.. there's no reason for it really ahaha... Although, please let me know if there's any particular style you think I would suit! I'm definitely up for hearing any opinions...so yeaaah

Lately, I've noticed that the evenings have been a little warmer than usual, causing me to feel like I'm sleeping on a bed of hot lava. So, when I received a gift card to spend at Next, I knew exactly what I wanted to get.

Usually, my bedtime attire is something of an eye-sore. I tend to grab a pair of leggings, throw on a baggy tee and clip my hair up into a 'do' that I don't even have a name for. But I decided that, this time, I was going to pick up something a little more pretty. I chose this black lace-trim slip, since I feel like it kinda screamed 'HOLLY BUY ME' on the website. This is probably the nicest piece of nightwear I've ever purchased but sometimes you just gotta make yourself feel good. It's nice to wear this little number every now and again and just feel a bit nicer than wearing my usual 'you could have just brought me in off the street' look. Most of all however, it's kept me from melting into mattress or evaporating into the atmosphere. Next done goooood!

As I stepped outside the other day, ready to take some blog photos, the earth knew what it was going to do....rain. I would be lying if I said that I didn't let out a little 'urrrghhh are you seriousssss!?' but you know what, I just went for it anyway

For a while now here in the UK it has been pretty sunny and warm/humid, so I was actually quite happy to be able to whack my coat on and get cosy. This coat is a fav of mine and is from Pretty Little Thing. Here, I styled it up with my white V neck top from H&M, these ASOS trousers and my Red Herring Heels. You can never go wrong with a monochrome look.

I like the way the outfit has a kind of 'sophisticated' feel - I definitely want to channel this more often!

Flash Mob Cosmetics recently got in contact with me and asked me to try out some of their products ready for festival season! I may be a little late to the scene but I decided to have a go with their Electric Kisses set!

PURPLE
I love this shade the most out of the four. It's exciting and 'out-there' and totally down my alley. I like the way this shade is so bold and would shake up any kind of look. I'd love to style this with a grungy outfit and Dr Martens!

ORANGE
This shade is probably the easiest to wear. It's a lot more subtle but still adds a pop of colour to your lips. This would be great with a white shirt and denim shorts.

BABY PINK
Baby cakes you just don't know know... okay sorry..
Now, baby pink is not usually a colour I grab for but, I have to say that I quite like this paticular colour on me. I think it would look absoloutley fab with a flower crown and pink Wellington boots!

HOT PINK
Feeling hot hot hot.. again, I apologise
This is probably my second fav. This colour is bold and exciting and would love perfect along with a floral kimono and knee high boots.

These lipsticks are great for jazzing up your look during the summer, definitely go and check them out! Find them here: http://uk.markwinsbeauty.com/brand/flashmob/

JUMPER - TOPSHOP / TROUSERS - ASOS / BOOTS - NEW LOOK / BAG - ZARA

I'm back! Sorry I've been a little MIA for the past week. It's isn't that I didn't want to post something but I just haven't felt 100% happy recently with some of my posts, so I've done a lot of thinking. As you can see, I'm in a different location...I'm OUTSIDE. I feel like my outfit photos are looking a little 'meh' and low quality so I tried shooting outside to see if it made a difference. If I'm honest, it didn't really, but I think these photos came out okay, so why not just use them anyway.

I have been in love with this jumper ever since I got my hands on it - which was kindaa agess agoooooo - and the other day I just had the urge to style it. I think the jumper and these trousers are the perfect combination, they have a slouchy but sort of 'put together' vibe. I of course, then popped on my New Look chelsea boots and grabbed my Zara bag and off I went...*sassy walk*

#BAREALLBEPALE

Pale (adj) Definition - "light in colour or shade, inferior or unimpressive."

Despite many atrocious attempts at fake tan in the past, nowadays I love having pale skin. It compliments my hair and I embrace it! However, someone recently commented quite negatively about just how pale I am and it got me thinking. I began to think about what being pale really means and all the things that we never really speak about and what if we did. And, I guess there is no better time than the present...

I have always felt 'inferior and unimpressive', but I like to come across as happy and positive. I'm not saying that that isn't me, because it is, but deep down I think that there is definitely a lot more to me and that there are other things going on.

It's very easy to just fake happiness and I really do believe in the saying 'You've got to fake it, to make it.'  People want to see the persona, the OOTDs and the pretty Instagrams - not me sat in my pyjamas, with my hair clipped back, eating mash potato, over thinking life and feeling sorry for myself. (...Yes, I really do that). I can't count the amount of times I've said to my Mum, 'I feel like I'm lying' but, I suppose now, you've got to take me as I am or not at all.

Something that I have hidden, is my battle with mental health. I suffer from a mixture of illnesses and honestly, it is the hardest thing I think I will ever go through. But, they are probably going to be with me for life, so why hide the fact that I have them. (I did think about elaborating on what I suffer from, wrote it in here and then erased it. I just don't feel quite ready yet to shout it from the rooftops, but, please know that I am not a flawless person and that these illnesses are here and they are real.)

People often leave me messages saying that I'm 'perfect' or their 'inspiration', which yes, is very flattering, but It also leaves me with a lot of guilt. I don't want you to think that I'm this perfect person - I have issues and I hate the fact that I'm not the person you see in my photos 100% of the time (god, I wish I was). Honestly, I don't even understand what other people see in me, and that's really tough considering that you are only seeing the 'positive' parts of me. I guess I've always thought that people would think I'm a total fruit loop with the amount of worrying I do and the thoughts that I deal with, so I just show you the best parts and not everything else underneath.

At the end of the day, we're all human and I don't want to feel like I'm hiding anything any more or not being honest.

My aim with this post is to encourage people to express their pale side; to not be ashamed to show their qualities that may be considered 'inferior'. Whether that be illnesses, skin problems, or anything else. Even things like the paleness of your skin - do not hide it, embrace it. I can say that now, almost a year on from being diagnosed, I've come a long way and I've tackled a lot. Why shouldn't I express that and be proud? It's negative comments like the one about me being 'too pale' that have influenced me to not want to hide that side of me and show you that, although everything might appear hunky dory for me, it's not.

Really, I don't think people can realise the impact of comments, whether they be positive or negative. Don't get me wrong, I love reading all of your lovely comments and messages, but I find it so hard to not fixate on some of the things that are said. Sadly, I know that I will ever believe the positive comments, since as I have said before, unfortunately they tend to go over my head and I only ever believe the negative ones. This makes it all the much harder to want to bare all of myself to you. But, i'm going to.

'I'm me and although sometimes that may be difficult to deal with, it's the truth and I have to deal with it. We are all inferior, no matter who we are'.

If you feel like you're hiding the person you really are, or even just a part of yourself... don't. It's people like Em Ford from My Pale Skin, Meg from Meg Says and Zoe Sugg that I look up to. They aren't afraid to show who they really are and they use it to help and better the world and I absoloutley love that.

Like I said, I am going to have these illnesses with me, most likely, forever. Maybe one day I will be that 100% happy person you see in my photos, you never know, but for now, I'm imperfect and that's fine by me. I am determined to accept myself and you should be too.

I'd love to see you all sharing this post, helping me to encourage people to open up and #BareAllBePale. If I get anything out of writing this post, It would be to just influence at least one person to be a little more accepting of themselves and although I know that this is all easier said than done, please try and be you, every single part of you.

For my birthday I received this lovely pot of peppermint goodness and got really excited to try it out. I had never tried a Lush face mask before but had heard so much good stuff about them.

When I first opened this up my first reaction was 'omg yum.' Like seriously, I could eat this stuff. It smells absoloutley amazing! The mask is made to clear out your pores and help fight breakouts. It contains Aduki beans and peppermint which gives it a tingling feeling.

I apply a generous layer to my face and usually leave on for 15-30 minutes. I then apply water and gently exfoiliate. I always find that I'm left feeling bright and awake and my skin feels super clean.

I really really like this product!

Recently I have been kindly gifted with these two exciting items and have been invited to take part in the Magnitone and For All My Eternity Summer Skin Campaign.

I have been lusting after a Magnitone brush for so long and I'm so giddy that I've finally got one. I've been asked to test out the brush, along with the For All My Eternity Lemon-grass, Bergamont and Mandarin Body Wash, which sounds lovely. I'm really looking forward to giving them a go!

 DUNGAREES - MATALAN / TEE - ZARA / SHOES - TOPSHOP

Headline: DUNGAREES TAKING WORLD BY STORM. Okay, okay, I may be being a little dramatic. But seriously, we all need a pair of dungarooos in our wardrobe.

This pair are from Matalan and are just perfect for me. They're nice and loose, giving me room to do everything from rock climbing to eating all of the mango in the world.. (I like me some mango okay?) ...(not so keen on rock climbing though... I'm just explaining...). I feel like I could pair these with just about anything.

Here, I'm styling them with a slogan tee from Zara and my beautiful shoes from Topshop. Comfy, yet a little bit gangster.

ps/ I don't know what has come over me but I'm feeling a little comedic with my blog posts right now ahaha.

Dungarees and White Tees

 DUNGAREES - MATALAN / TEE - ZARA / SHOES - TOPSHOP

Headline: DUNGAREES TAKING WORLD BY STORM. Okay, okay, I may be being a little dramatic. But seriously, we all need a pair of dungarooos in our wardrobe.

This pair are from Matalan and are just perfect for me. They're nice and loose, giving me room to do everything from rock climbing to eating all of the mango in the world.. TOP - ASOS / JEANS - TOPSHOP / HEELS - RED HERRING

Topshop Joni Jeans are my go to when it comes to a day out. They're super comfy and stretchy and I just love pairing them with tucked in tops and heeled boots or shoes.

The other day I wore this outfit out shopping - just an outfit I had thrown together quickly in the morning. But, I have to say, I don't think I had felt quite so 'tall' in a while - both in height and confidence.

Now yes, I may have felt more like 5'7 than 5'6, but the difference to me was that I felt pretty confident and felt like I looked... good. It was nice for a change. There is something about this outfit that just makes me like myself a little more. I like the way that the whole outfit is so fitted and I find it quite flattering on my figure. However, I also just love the simplicity. It's a quick and easy outfit that I randomly threw together and It gave me the ability to feel that little bit better about myself.

Sometimes.. the most simple of outfits can make the biggest impact. What do you think?
