You're all probably thinking 'Where on earth have you been?' or you didn't notice I was gone...

I feel that I owe an explanation.

Firstly, I would like to apologise for the fact that I have not posted in nearly 2 months. I started my blog during the summer, as it is something I have always wanted to do and I knew that I would have a lot of free time to really have a go at it. I really wanted to share my love for things and become part of such a great community. Back in September however, I started college, making me a lot busier than I was. Since then a lot of things have caused me to do a lot of thinking.

I have such a strong passion for beauty and fashion; I can't think of anything else I would want to do with my life than talk about it and be surrounded by it.

I have loved make-up for so long, ever since I stole my Mum's red lipstick about 7 years ago and began to rebelliously wear mascara to school. Then, in 2009 I found the whole 'Beauty Guru' community on YouTube and fell in love. I have been YouTube obsessed ever since, watching people such as BeautyCrush and Tanya Burr. The videos I watched, and still watch to this day, really encouraged me to think about becoming a make-up artist or working in beauty and this is something that I would still love to do. I bought all the books and everything.

Clothes, like they are to any girl, are so personal to me. I feel like I can express my personality through what I wear and how I wear it. I have been through so many different phases with fashion, going from wanting to be super colourful, to completely monochrome. Plus the fact that shopping truly is my 'cardio'.

However, I feel like posting at this time would be like me lying to you all.

I haven't felt like myself for a really long time and especially the way I dress currently has stopped expressing who I am. Because honestly, I don't know who I am any more and to keep blogging as if I do would be like one big cover up. In the future I hope I can come back and make a much better go at this, but I just want to thank any of you who have read my blog so far and have left me such lovely feedback. I really am grateful.

UPDATE: Have I stopped blogging?

I know what you're all thinking, "ANOTHER lipstick post, is this girl crazy?", well yes I am crazy, very crazy about lipsticks. This lipstick is the latest addition to my collection, it is MAC Chatter-box. I wanted a girly pink shade for the summer and this lipstick fit all my criteria.

The lipstick comes in MAC's classic silver packaging. It's creamy and light weight on the lips coming from MAC's Amplified Creme Lipstick range. It's a pretty pink, not too bright and neon, which can be a problem with a lot of pink lipsticks. It applies very easily but doesn't have brilliant lasting power and does need to be reapplied every so often. Usually, i apply the lipstick by dotting it onto my lips and then blending it in with my fingers creating a more natural look. I really like it. I would recommend applying lip balm or exfoliating your lips before using this as it can highlight lines on the lips. I think that this colour would work great for a fresh faced look or even a smokey eye look, very versatile.
Overall, i have been really liking this lipstick so far and i'm loving the girly vibe it can add to my looks.

Sometimes in life we all just need to escape the stress of everyday goings on. My recent holiday to Mallorca gave me this opportunity and I have to say, it really did feel good to get away.

Whilst on holiday, I experienced many new things and saw some beautiful places.
The sunshine, for example, was just one simple thing that I'm not used to enjoying. Usually as the sun comes out, I hide away, since I am so prone to sun burn. But on this holiday, waking up to a lovely sunny day really brightened my mood and made each day feel pretty positive. I didn't get sunburnt and for the first time ever, I enjoyed sun bathing in the glorious sun.
Another thing was getting out the house, going for walks and seeing all the different things that there were. Doing this made me feel a huge appreciation for nature and how beautiful it is; I couldn't stop taking photos of everything for the whole week. Getting up and out sometimes can help to clear your head and make you think about different things than the usual.
One day, we went out on a boat trip to see lots of beautiful coves and sandy beaches; it was wonderful. It was super refreshing to see such a relaxed environment compared to busy roads and rushing people. The boat even stopped so that people could get into the water and have a swim. The water was crystal clear and it was just such a nice thing to say I had experienced.
The last thing was just getting to RELAX, something which I never really get to do. It was nice to just stop and take in everything around you rather than having to stress or rush round. Everyone needs to get away sometimes and it really can help you feel a lot better within yourself.

A Get Away...

On my seventh and final night in Mallorca i decided to embrace the glorious weather and go for a crisp white outfit.

I once again wore this tunic dress from Topshop however, this time without the kimono and slipped on my Primark flats. I went for my simple jewelry from Pandora and Dogeared and carried my trusty white cotton bag.
I decided to straighten my hair and go for a natural make up look to keep things nice and simple. I wore MAC's Kinda Sexy on my lips and used Benefit They're Real Mascara. I loved how the all-white outfit embraced my holiday
tan(YEAH RIGHT, more like holiday freckles hahaha) and reflected the bright and beautiful weather.
We spent the evening at a wonderful restaurant on the Marina and watched as people sailed in on their yachts. A lovely way to end the holiday!

On my sixth night in Mallorca I decided to tackle my crop top fear (read more here) by wearing something a bit more daring for me.
I styled my black and white gingham bra-let from Topshop with my white high waisted Missguided shorts. Since the neckline of the top was a bit too low cut for me, I wore a white bandeau underneath to prevent anything unpleasant from happening hahaha. I wore my white Primark flats to add the final touch of white to the outfit and my usual jewelry.
I curled my hair once again since I really liked the way it had turned out the night before and went for the same make up look.
I'm really glad that I felt brave enough to pluck up the courage to wear this outfit as I really enjoyed wearing it!

On my fifth night in Mallorca I decided to whip out a new purchase of mine...the kimono.
I styled this gorgeous black lace kimono from Missguided with a simple white tunic sundress from Topshop. I added my white Primark dolly shoes and my standard jewelry to complete the look.
I once again went for Benefit's Oxygen Wow foundation and my Chanel Les Beiges powder. I contoured with my Nars Laguna Bronzer and wore MAC's Kinda Sexy on my lips.
I decided to created a messy hairstyle by curling and back combing my hair.
I loved wearing this outfit and it was one of my favorite things I wore!

On my fourth night on holiday, I decided to pull out some cute and simple polka dots.

I wore a Topshop Boutique tee with a lovely Forever 21 dress over the top. I think this created quite a 50/60s style, so I tied my hair back tight to try to recreate Twiggy's iconic look. I also wore my white Primark flats once again.
I added my same old Dogeared Karma necklace and Pandora ring to complete the outfit.
This was an unusual hairstyle for me, but its always good to give something new a try!

On my third night in Mallorca, we once again went to eat at the Marina and so I was feeling a nautical outfit.
I have fallen in love with the colour baby blue recently and so I really liked this outfit. I paired a baby blue button down Topshop cami with my high waisted Missguided shorts and my white Primark dolly shoes. I carried with me my white cotton bag and wore my Dogeared Karma necklace and Pandora ring.
I tied my hair back in a tight bun and created a bronzed make up look. I used Benefit Oxygen Wow as my base and powdered my Chanel Les Beiges. I contoured my cheeks with Nars Laguna Bronzer and wore MAC Vegas Volt Lipstick.

On the second night of my holiday, I was feeling very ill, so decided to throw on a super comfy outfit.
I wore a baby blue vest top from Topshop Boutique, with a black and white floral skirt from New Look. I slipped on some comfy white Primark flats and carried my white cotton bag. I also wore my Dogeared Karma necklace and Pandora ring.

On the first night in Mallorca, I decided to sport some classic stripes.
I wore this lovely black and white dress from Zara, along with my Topshop Birkenstock (which you can read more about here). During the entire holiday, I simply used a plain white cotton bag to carry my belongings as it was so extremely easy to carry around.
I tied my hair up in a tight bun and wanted my make up to do the talking. I decided to wear a bright lip and MAC Lady Danger was my choice. I thought the red lip contrasted nicely with the monochrome outfit.
I wore my Dogeared Karma necklace, with my Pandora ring and a bracelet that my brother bought me as a gift from Italy.
We spent the evening at the marina where millions of pounds worth of yachts sat in view of every restaurant. It was lovely!

Tomorrow I am jetting off on my summer holiday. I'm ready with my sun cream and suitcase but this means that i am going to be absent from my blog whilst i am away. I am hoping to upload some holiday outfit posts and maybe even some little stories about any adventures I go on once I am home. Don't miss me too much!

I'm Going On A Summer Holiday!

Now, usually in summer I tend to paint my nails with vibrant colors to reflect the sunny (well, not in England specifically..) weather. However, I made a recent discovery when browsing over the Barry M stand in Boots and picked up this unusual shade.

The colour is called 'Olive' and OLIVE IT (meant to sound like I LOVE IT..okay never mind). It is a neutral, almost khaki green colour and just works perfectly with my style. It looks beautiful with my mainly black and white wardrobe and adds an element of class to an outfit. It's long lasting and the 'Gelly' formulation is lovely and shiny. I particularly like how unusual of a shade this is and how it works so well as a summer nail polish. I love simplicity and this baby is as simple as it can get without being a dull and boring shade. I would most definitely recommend trying out the Barry M Gelly range, they have some great colors!

The first step is admitting you have a problem. So...I have a fear of crop tops. There. I said it. I have never plucked up the courage to wear one. The idea of having my stomach out on show terrifies me to my very soul. However, I've made steps for change.

I recently bought two crop tops which I plan to wear on my holiday in just over a week. It took a lot of guts, but I realized that it isn't that scary after all.
Crop tops look great and I always envy people wearing them. So, if you're like me and have been too self conscious to grab a hold of this trend, then I say DO IT. DO IT KNOW. There's no need to worry. Pair a crop top with high waisted trousers, shorts or a skirt and there therefore becomes nothing on show. Wear a crop top with a bikini and shorts on a sunny holiday, you're only keeping cool. Wear a crop top with a vest underneath, keep it casual. There are so many ways to wear a crop top and not feel uncomfortable or conscious. BE CONFIDENT and eliminate the crop top fear.

I am a real sucker for a good perfume. I just LOVE to smell nice, (Well, doesn't everyone?) So, here are my current Top 4 favourite fragrances...

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream- a fruity, floral, musky scent with a hint of coconut and notes of blackberry and jasmine too. It has a stunning blue, white and gold bottle and just screams spring/summer scent.

Vera Wang Princess- currently my all time favourite, explaining why the bottle is empty in the pictures above. It's a young and fresh scent with just the right mixture of fruity and floral notes. It's strong when first applied, but fades into a subtle girly smell. The bottle is in a lovely heart shape which i think reflects the smell of the perfume perfectly.

Chanel Chance Eau Tendre- a delicate fragrance with a contrast between floral and fruity, which is gorgeous. It is always present when applied and doesn't fade too much throughout the day. It is a light fragrance and comes in a classic circular Chanel bottle.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Delight- a twist on both the original Daisy and Daisy Eau So Fresh (a limited edition release for Summer 2014). It's a light, fruity, floral, sweet scent with notes of pink pepper, white tea and raspberry. It comes in a lovely tall bottle with a gold ball lid that has different colored daisies all over it; beautiful.

Last week, i decided to pop into Boux Avenue. I had heard so many people rave about this place and I had never been in before, so I knew I had to at least have a look. I went in to buy myself a new bikini for my holiday to Majorca later this year and was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful organisation on the shop. Bras and bikinis were arranged neatly on hangers and if your size was not laid out on display, you were able to search through size coordinated draws to find it. There was a wide range of styles and colors in both the underwear and bikinis, so loads to chose from and fun to look through.

Whilst I was there I had a fitting. They fitted me to my correct size and then helped me to see the style of bikini which suited me best. The staff there were lovely, super friendly and so helpful. They bag your items beautifully in their pink, white and black bags and make it looks so pretty that you never want to unwrap it and ruin it (but... you do because of the gorgeous underwear or bikini inside aha)

I would definitely recommend having a look if you haven't already. Give it a go!

Thursday 26th June 2014, I attended my Year 11 prom and can honestly say it was amazing. We began with a delicious meal and continued our night with fun games and A LOT of dancing. Me and my friends danced constantly and belted out Mr Bright-side SO loud that i have woken up with no voice this morning aha. Anyway, i thought it would be interesting to write a post on the look i went for at my Prom and how i went about putting my outfit together. I hope you like it!

With my prom dress and outfit, I wanted to send out strong Marilyn Monroe vibes. That's right... If you can't already tell, I love 50's style and i'm all about red lipstick and classic clothes. I decided to wear a long, black chiffon dress with a wrap over front as I thought that the contrast between my pale skin and the deep, dark black could really capture people's attention. I wanted to create a classic and elegant look; feeling as if I had just arrived on a red carpet in Hollywood.

For my make up I went for a classic red lip using MAC Lady Danger and I created a neutral smokey eye with the use of MAC Cork Eye Shadow along with some gorgeous glitter. I love very simple make up, as many did during the 50's, but I did try to add a bit of glamour to this look. I used NARS Laguna Bronzer to contour my face and create those defined cheek bones and painted my nails with American Apparel's Downtown LA Nail Varnish. The red lip and red nails tied the look together and also contrasted with both the black of my dress and my pale complexion. Red was most definitely THE colour of the era, red lips and nails everywhere, inspired by Miss Monroe.

My dazzling rhinestone necklace was purchased from Zara and I wore my ring from Pandora, gifted to me by my friends earlier this week on my birthday. I also decide to wear some crystal clip-on earrings, shaped like pretty flowers, which were actually originally my Great Nanna's. I never had the great opportunity of meeting her however, a lot of her jewelry was handed down to me and I always find myself  looking for bits of old jewelry i can style up; like the earrings in this look. I love the chic feel that these earrings created and I think they helped to draw in attention. I wore black court heels from Topshop to match the colour of my dress but unfortunately during the evening one of these shoes broke, so I would not recommend them! I used a lovely gem stone clutch bag from New Look (which was a complete bargain at £12) helping to reflect the style of Hollywood Glamour.

I had my hair styled in a classic vintage wave and I adored it. It definitely sent out strong Marilyn vibes and finished my look off.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my Prom inspiration and let me know what you think!

This is a very busy and very exciting week for me. Last month, I left high school FOREVER and I recently finished all my GCSE exams. Now I have finally reached the week of my prom and I am very excited. But, what also makes this week very special, is that it is my 16th birthday. (Yes, the time has finally come!)

So, yesterday, I headed down to Stockton Heath to pick up my prom dress after having it altered and steamed. I have chosen to wear a long black dress for prom along with some lovely silver jewelry. I really wanted to go for a very 'Old Hollywood' look and I am having my hair styled in a vintage wave. My prom is taking place at a Hall Barn and will be happening on Thursday the 26th; I honestly cannot contain my excitement. After going to the Hall Barn there will be a party where i am sure there will be a lot of dancing, drinks and giggles. Today however, I am celebrating my 16th birthday! (eek)

Today, I am going out with my three best friends for a lovely girly shopping trip and meal. I will be sure to tell you all about my purchases and presents in a blog post soon (not to brag, but because i know that many people, including me, like to have a good nosy at what people get!). I will also be posting my prom outfit and giving you a much more detailed insight into the look i was going for.

I am super excited and cannot wait to tell you more!

Last night (20/06/14), I went to a party with my friends and I wanted to wear something summery and exciting. I had recently been fan-girling over an outfit Alexa Chung (my absolute icon) wore to the MyTheresa.com and Anya Hindmarch dinner in London. She was wearing a tailored Saint Laurent red velvet suit paired with a co-ordinating mini pencil skirt. She looked so striking, I fell in love with the bright eye catching red and wanted to incorporate that into this outfit.

I decided I would pair a red Delicate Topshop top with my white high-waisted Missguided shorts. The contrast between the clean white and the fiery red really excited me and worked in the exact way i wanted it to (to stand out!). I loved how easy this outfit was to put together and I am definitely one for simplicity. So, I wore this simple - yet very exciting - combination with my white high heels from Red Herring. I feel like the white shoes tied the whole thing together and exaggerated the blocks of colour. I also later added a silver Topshop necklace and Primark rings to complete the look.

For my make-up i went for a simple look, similar to Alexa and let my red lipstick (MAC Red Lipstick) do all the talking. I painted my nails using OPI's Nail Lacquer in Live.Love.Carnival and wore Miss Dior Cherie for fragrance.

Overall, i was really happy with my chic, summery party outfit and i'm so happy i could add some of Alexa's style into the mix!

Recently, I have been on the hunt for the perfect natural lipstick. I am red and bright lipstick obsessed, but sometimes it's nice to go for a more natural look. I searched through so many different brands, from Chanel to Bourjois, but seemed to have no hope until a trip to Selfridges where i found myself gazing over the MAC counter (oh it is heaven).

Firstly, tried Faux and Patisserie but both of these came up way too light on me and made me and my pale complexion look 'washed out'. However, I am a sucker for a MAC lipsticks so knew i'd eventually find something to fulfill my natural lipstick needs. AND I DID...

MAC's Kinda Sexy is a neutral peachy-nude and is matte formulated. As this is a matte shade, i was worried that it might stick to dry patches but applying a lip balm before hand really helps to stop this. I found it very long lasting, (I even went for a cup of tea after trying it on and it did not budge, which was great!) The colour is gorgeous and is the perfect neutral shade for me. Since i am very pale,i need lipsticks with colour to brighten up my face and this shade works wonders. It has a peach tone but is still simple and natural, making it wearable everyday.

The lipstick comes in the original black and silver packaging as it's from the regular range. MAC describes the shade as a pinky-rose, to which i have to disagree, it is much more peach. The pigmentation is excellent however, and leaves a great opaque colour. I adore it!

If you're pale like me (or i also think this shade would be great on darker complexions) and need a lipstick with colour but don't want to wear a big bold lip, then i would definitely suggest trying out this shade. It really is kinda sexy...

The Birkenstock. A trend which is oozing it's way back onto the scene; shops are filled with their own takes on the classic sandal. On one of my recent (and much needed) shopping trips out, i was browsing the shoe section in Topshop and thinking about how my feet are in need of a new summer friend. Now, i love the Birkenstock trend on other people but i really didn't think it was something i was going to be able to pull off. BUT, as soon as i slipped this pair onto my feet, i knew, i knew i had to have them.

I might be slightly late onto this trend but i have fallen in love. The shoes are super comfy and looked so simple and chic. They have a padding, which makes them so soft and will definitely help them keep they're shape, two straps, 100% leather, with adjustable buckles and what looks like a pretty durable sole. The leather is wonderful as it's thick and soft, also adding to comfort. I am over the moon with these shoes and the BEST part is, they were only £26; a must have for a summer wardrobe!

You can style these shoes in so many ways. Wear them with black loose trousers and white sun top for a monochromatic look or add them to an outfit with a floral sundress to create a 'fun' feel. They will be great for on holiday for lounging round the pool but can also be added to dressier outfits (very versatile!).

So, if you're looking for a new summer sandal and want to be on top of the Birkenstock trend without splashing too much cash, give these a try... I highly recommend!

Okay, so here we go...
I have wanted to start up a blog for quite a long time now, but i never seemed to pluck up the guts to do so, (although i have made several goes in the past but chickened out hahaha).

I'm Holly, a complete and utter fashion, beauty and style enthusiast. Yes that's right, i'm the girl that adores taking pretty photographs of the simplest things, buys too many clothes and falls in love with 17 different red lipsticks. I love fashion and the way that different people can express themselves through what they wear and the same applies to make-up.

I have created my blog now as i feel like the time is right. I want to share my interests and also experience having something of my own; this blog will be my own space to write about whatever i want  (i love that).

I hope you enjoy reading my blog, let's see how this goes..
