I shot this outfit over the Easter weekend, on a lovely day out with my boyfriend (thanks for the photos Josh!), and I just absolutely love the colour of this dress.

This kind of bright green colour is normally something I would avoid wearing - I'm not really sure why, maybe because it's not fitting with my usual, beige, brown and white attire... but, alas, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, and I just felt the urge to wear it!

At the end of the day, Instagram was filled with summer dresses over that weekend; everyone truly embraced our mini-heatwave. All those spring/summer pieces finally got to see the light of day... I mean, yeah, only for 4 days, but still!

There's something about this dress that, despite being a piece kindly gifted by Nasty Gal last summer, gives off that kind of vintage 50's vibe. I love the contrast between the white and green, and the fit of the dress is so cute and flattering, and it's definitely safe to say that the polka dots just top it all off.

DRESS - NASTY GAL // CARDIGAN - MISS SELFRIDGE // BAG - PAULS BOUTIQUE

You know me, I love a vintage piece. I love rooting through the charity shops and finding a big ol' blazer for £2, or nabbing some knitwear from the men's section, but, it's also great to get that vintage feel from high street brands too sometimes - to treat yourself to something new and have it work perfectly with the rest of your (what could be charity shop in itself) wardrobe.

This dress is a great example of that. This is the kind of piece I could see myself wearing with a mensy over-sized blazer and some cute heeled sandals or the kind of thing I could rock with a bold red lip and leather jacket - something that will just contrast perfectly with those masculine and edgy vibes.

And, at the end of the day, who doesn't love a polka dot? It's a classic and a staple, especially in my wardrobe.

When the warmer weather hits, you can find me donning polka dots in all colours and styles, dressed up and down, depending on the occasion. I even recently treated myself to a polka dot maxi from Zara, that I've been lusting after for ages (I've been specifically told by Josh however, to save it for when we go away to Milan in June, as he insists on him being the one to take photos of it haha, so keep your eyes peeled for that).

You just simply can't go wrong with a polka dot piece, especially if you're trying to transition a bit of pattern into your looks. A dot-to-dot here and a dot-to-dot there can go a long way!

I've included some cute polka dot pieces below for you to take a look at, some more colourful than others and some for the beige lovers out there! Let me know if anything catches your eye!
